Red Steel 2 & Silent Hill!!!

I know, quite the combo right? Well, that’s what I have for you guys today. There is so much coming out of E3 that it is verging on overwhelming. Poor gamers huh? Yeah, right! If any of the other game conventions thought that E3 was dead in the water, they need to think again and step it up when it’ their turn at the plate. Just saying.

We all saw the Red Steel demo at E3 during Ubisoft’s conference. I actually watched the full conference in all of its awkwardness, my God was it painful. Luckily though what they showed of Red Steel 2 was absolutely amazing. So amazing in fact that I’ve already posted the full demo they showed online here for your enjoyment. Well, I thought you’d like some more of the wild west, gun-slinging, samurai sword toting action. It’s one thing to see the developers play their game, but I think you get a true feel of a game when you see actual gamers playing it. In these direct-feed gameplay videos below you’re gonna get just that. I do hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories was another title that should have been shown by Nintendo during the main conference. For some reason Reggie, Cammie and Iwata thought we’d rather hear about the DSi, so we didn’t get to see this game. Konami and the team at Climax Studios had our back and gave a wonderful demo of the extremely creepy title due in September. This walkthrough is in three parts and opens with what has got to be the most amazing introduction I’ve ever seen. After choosing to start a new game a “psychology warning” pops up and reads:

There is no hiding from this game. It profiles you. Gets to know who you really are. And it changes. Uses its knowledge against you. Creates a nightmare just for you. This game plays you much as you play it.

Seriously freaking awesome. After an introduction like that the bar is extremely high. I know, it may not be fair, and it may be just me, but I expect a lot after that. Thankfully Konami is dead set on delivering an amazing experience to Wii owners. I shouldn’t have to tell you that it looks like they’ve done it. I know that asking gamers to watch 20 something minutes of a game can be a lot. These videos are broken into 7 minute segments and you owe it to yourself to watch them. You have three days from now until Monday, just do one a day. There will be a pop-quiz Monday morning though so I expect you to do your homework, and enjoy it as always ;). If, however, you have A.D.D, or just no time at all on your hands, the latest trailer will be the first video and should be enough to whet your appetite.
