Transformers!!

If there’s one thing you should know about me it’s this: I love the Transformers. The Autobots hold a place in my heart that is extremely special. I remember as a kid being taken to see the original Transformers Movie. I was so excited about getting to see Prime and Co. on the big screen, it was going to be the greatest day of my life. I would finally get to see Prime defeat Megatron and the Decepticons. Then Prime died. Do you know what seeing your hero die will do to a 5 year old kid? I cried for the rest of the day. Maybe even that night. Yes, I was crushed. Eventually I came to understand that Prime wasn’t dead and that the Autobots would fight on. Then, just 20 years later, came Michael Bay and his vision of a live-action Transformers. It doesn’t even need to be said that I was there, have since seen it a ridiculous number of times, and am stupidly giddy about the sequel, “Revenge of the Fallen”. I don’t want to go on too much about the Transformers, trust me I could, because this isn’t a post about the films. This is a post about the game. I know there are thousands, nay millions, of us who await a true Transformers G1 game. Well, we have to wait longer because this is a tie in to ROTF. It’s being developed by Krome Studios who developed the Transformers game “Armada.” They are taking a fresh take this go round and developing it for the Wii then porting it to the PS2. ROTF will feature drop in/out local co-op, and of course will have Wii specific controls. Unfortunately, it will not have any of the G1 goodies that the PS3/360 versions are rumored to have. But, the game does look great and the fact that it promises to have side missions that run parallel to the film, could add up to making this a must buy for those wanting the total Transformers experience, and who doesn’t want that?!? The best thing about this game has to be its release date of June 23. Why is that the best thing you may be wondering, because that means I only have one more day before I get to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Yeah, I’m hyped and you should be too. If you’re not, then check the trailer below and bask in some of Cybertron’s finest. Enjoy.
